Types of Australian visas available for Slovenian citizens

The state of Australia has a variety of visas available depending on the traveler’s needs.

Every visa type varies in terms of the purpose of your visit, how long you are going to stay in Australia, as well as the passport you hold.

Australia offers two types of electronic visas – ETA and eVisitor Visa. It is a traveler’s nationality that determines the type of visa they should obtain.

Here are the types of Australian visas that any Slovenian citizen is eligible to apply for.

eVisitor Visa (Subclass 651)

A Slovenian citizen holding a valid Australian eVisitor Visa is allowed to visit Australia numerous times throughout a one-year validity period and stay in the country for up to 3 months upon every visit.

eVisitor can be used for the purpose of tourism, business, or transit. Its holder can use it to perform all kinds of leisure activities, including family and friend reunions, vacationing, sightseeing, and others alike. Moreover, it is permitted to participate in different types of business meetings and events or handle business affairs in Australia with an eVisitor Visa.

Last but not least, eVisitor enables transiting through Australia on your way to another travel destination.

The only difference between the eVisitor Visa and ETA is the list of eligible countries. Both electronic travel authorizations are issued for the same traveling purposes, remain valid for the same period of time, and enable numerous 3-month stays in Australia.

Documents required for Australian online visa application

You should also know that your eVistior Visa will be automatically linked to your passport once approved. You can save its digital copy on your mobile device and/or print it out.

During border control in Australia, officials may ask you to show your valid passport. This way, they will also check whether you are a holder of a valid Australian visa.

What visa do I require to study in Australia?

Every Slovenian applicant with the purpose of short-term studies in Australia can apply for an eVisitor Visa.

Apart from business, leisure, or transit purposes, eVisitor also covers study purposes. However, its holder can study or train for a maximum of 3 months in Australia.

If you wish to study in Australia full-time, you should best consider applying for a student visa subclass 500.
