ELECTRONIC TRAVEL AUTHORIZATION (eTA), TO Australia

Required documents

To apply for a visa (ETA/eVisitor) it is required to be in possession of:

  • a valid passport, issued by one of the eligible countries;
  • an email address;
  • a credit card, or a possibility of completing your application with payment with one of the many available electronic payment methods.

To fill the form for a visa, you only have to provide the personal and passport details; there is no need for you to attach your passport copy or any additional documents.
The data provided while filling out the application must be the same as written in the passport. While traveling, you are obliged to use the same passport, as the one you have used for applying. Once a person is intending to travel to Australia without acquiring proper documentation in advance, they might be denied boarding by the customs officials.

Requirements on arrival

Once the Australian government grants your eVisitor or ETA, it will be sent to the email address provided in the application form. Your visa will be automatically assigned to your passport number electronically. There is no need for you to print the grant confirmation out. The only document that is required at the airport is the valid passport that has been used while applying for a visa.

The visa will remain valid for one year, from the issuance date, or until your passport expires, whichever comes first.

Since a granted ETA or eVisitor is electronically assigned to your passport, once you exchange it for a new one, it is required for you to acquire a new visa before your planned arrival to Australia.
